The Oddity of Habib Rizieq Suspect Status

MFCNews.Com  | Polda Metro Jaya investigators have appointed the Leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Habib Rizieq Shihab as a suspect of pornography related to chat or nasty conversation in Whats App with Firza Husein.

Habib Rizieq isn’t in Indonesia. Habib Rizieq had gone to Mecca previously for Umrah worship and was in Malaysia. Rizieq was absent from police calls twice.

Since then, Rizieq decided to live in Saudi Arabia.

Sugito Atmo Pawiro as Rizieq's lawyer said that his client's suspect in a pornography case full of awkwardness. Police are considered to ignore the prerequisites of inquiry and investigation that are common in the procedural law.

According to him, the completeness of the provision of sufficient preliminary evidence to ensnare a witness into a suspect has not been met in the case of Habib Rizieq. The chat on Whats App become an insufficient of evidence as the Police reason to determine the suspect of Habib Rizieq.

"Anyhow the chat is allegedly a Whats App fake application or fake conversations, and it has not been tested scientifically to measure its accuracy, but without it the police are in a hurry to establish Habib Rizieq as a suspect," Sugito said in a press statement on Tuesday , May 30, 2017.

Sugito considered that there is an awkwardness about legal procedures. And it ignored by the police in front of the public. The police no longer closely observe the due process of law principles in law enforcement.

"It is proof that there is an impression of a deliberate systematic effort to bring down Habib Rizieq as a cleric and leader of Islamic Defenders Front who are very persistent fight for amar ma'ruf and nahi munkar in the country," he said.
